Linear Bushing

Related Documents

Linear bushing is used in the works performed with circular and axial motion or on the machines operating to this effect. When a work is performed, main function of the bushings is to minimize friction created by that work, thus saving power. The bushing is a mechanism formed by two rings nested. However, although it appears simple, the roller system between these two rings and smoothness is very important for life and quality of the bushings.

Applications

Linear bushings are used for sliding function in the defence industry, robotic machines, electronic equipment, drilling machines, automatic steam cut-off machines, agricultural industry, shrinkage measuring machines, medical equipment, card selection machines, printers and similar machines containing precise equipment.

What Are Components of it?

Linear bushings are consisted of cylinder, 2 rings nested, balls and top holders housing these balls. These parts have been arranged to optimize the existing system.

Things to be Considered for Long Use

  • Using the bushings without lubrication shall increase friction and thus shorten their lifetime.
  • Excessive increase of the ambient temperature shall decrease operating efficiency of the bushing
  • If the bushing in use is not hardened as required, it shortens lifetime of it.
